FL has great synths, surge and vital are great free synths and you have some great vintage stuff in your arturia collection.FL Studio 20 Signature Edition is the most complete virtual studio. FL was looked down on because it wasn't professional or industry standard, but lots of successful producers use it these days. They might look impressive, but it's more what you do with them that makes them good. Having expensive "professional" synths/vsts is like having enormous genitals. But for synths and stuff like that? I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mention these because free orchestral vsts don't always sound convincing. I'm not sure there is such a thing as "very professional sounds" unless you need huge orchestral libraries for cinematic style tracks, although there are some fantastic free options out there to get you started (project SAM has a small and free orchestral library that runs in the free kontakt player, spitfire has a free small BBC symphony orchestra library, Orchestral Tools has free instruments that run in its free Sine Player, Spitfire and piano book have lovely pianos and strings). ![]() Download Komplete Start though, it's free Spitfire's free labs libraries are great too, as are the free libraries you can download from pianobook to use in the Decent Sampler (also free). ![]() Plenty of amazing free synths out there like Surge or Vital that will save you a fortune over the "must have" options, Omnisphere and komplete will cost about £800. I haven't heard the others but install them, choice is always good and installing plugins is a quick process in FL. I used an arturia minimoog a few years ago and it was yummy. There will always be something "better/more professional" that comes along, but arturia make fantastic emulations of older synths, I dunno if anyone does it better? Be fantastic for any kind of 80s style stuff you might want to experiment with. As for the plug-ins you have I'd certainly install them, you've paid for them after all. all very smooth and easy, it should auto detect them if you plug them in before you launch FL. Your midi controllers will work in any computer, options>midi>select your controller and click enable.
